Maintain and restore engine power – Diesel engines form the backbone of economies around the world but maximizing their power in an unrelenting manner is a task engineers have been working on ever since the inception of commercial diesel engines. With the kind of diesel fuel available, deposits can slowly build up inside the engine. Accumulating with time, these deposits start preventing the motor system from exploiting its full potential and mechanical efficiency. SMC’s high-performance diesel fuel additives are designed to remove already existing deposits (clean-up effect) and prevent the formation of new deposits (keep-clean effect).

Improve vehicle drivability – Drivability is a key factor for assessing the performance of a vehicle. It is all about how fast a vehicle responds to a driver’s demand and how much driving comfort the vehicle provides, but the heavy-duty nature of modern diesel engines comes at a cost. With the high torque they are known for delivering, the transmission’s response time and engine vibrations can become real areas of concern, especially when travelling over long distances. Minimize cold starting issues – It’s a classic problem that diesel engines are harder to start in cold weather since they rely on high temperatures that are created by compression for igniting the injected fuel. On an average, it is five times harder to start a diesel engine at -17°C than it is to start one at 26°C. DIPURE diesel fuel additives have extra anti-gelling properties that improve cold flow by preventing the gelling up of diesel and cleaning the deposits from fuel injectors, combustion chambers and intake valves. The secret lies in the cetane boosters present in DIPURE additives that accelerate the combustion process.

Lower engine noise and eliminate engine knocking – Even though a diesel engine has less moving parts than a petrol-powered one, their components have to be made much stronger. Protect against injector nozzle fouling – The fuel injector nozzle is an important component of a modern diesel engine yet it is most vulnerable to blockages because the sprayhole diameter is designed to be very small and since the flame directly interacts with the nozzle resulting in the deposition of combustion byproducts on the surface and inside cavities. This phenomenon is referred to as injector fouling or coking. Driving on a blocked nozzle is known to have drastic effects on fuel efficiency, engine performance and results in alarming emissions of particulates. While a lot of fuel injector cleaners are available in the market, it becomes an extra chore to add a separate formula for each problem you face. Reduce fuel filter blocking – Diesel fuels in today’s day and age contain less than 15ppm sulphur in them. Modern ultra-low sulphur diesels (ULSD) are engineered to provide a cleaner alternative to the traditional fuels that were used earlier but a consequence of this desulfurization process is that it also has drastic effects on fuel properties and the engine. Low sulphur in diesel means more microbial activity that not only makes diesel unstable, but also causes the production of sludge and varnish at an unprecedented high rate. The biomass produced because of the usage of ULSD fuel plugs the filters leading to misfires and rough idle, vehicle stalling and fuel system component failures. DIPURE additives are formulated to work efficiently with ULSD fuel, making it more stable and less prone to leaving deposits around the fuel filters.

Increase oxidation resistance and enhance corrosion protection – Engine lubricants are prone to oxidation because modern engines are designed to operate at high temperatures and can have water, acids or catalysts such as copper building up. Every time engine lubricants react with oxygen, the process of oxidation takes place. Moreover, diesel fuel contains Vanadium compounds which at high temperatures form highly corrosive compounds with low melting points. Researchers at SMC’s Competence Center for Fuels & Lubes have been successful at formulating DIPURE additives that are oxidation resistance increased by using better base oils with higher viscosity and adding high quality antioxidant oils. These antioxidant additives prevent the buildup of acids that corrode the engine’s hardware.

Prevent fuel foaming – Diesel fuel has the tendency of foaming and spilling out of the fuel tank resulting in wastage and a layer around the engine that attracts dirt – it becomes a grave maintenance issue. The spilled diesel can become a potential hazard with possibilities of the spillage catching fire. While anti-foaming agents and detergents are widely available in the market, DIPURE additives take the solution a step forward by taking an all-encompassing approach to the concept of fuel additives. Add DiPURE additive directly to the vehicle fuel tank. A 250 ml additive bottle is sufficient for treating 60L of diesel fuel.
